About Me

 

My name is Darcy, and I am ACE certified in personal fitness training.  I have over 15 years of fitness experience.  My primary goal for myself is to be healthy.  I decided to take up personal training to help others who are out of shape feel the amazing effects of exercise.

 

I know what it feels like to be overweight.  At one point my weight was 170.  I was 40 pounds over weight!  I had always been in pretty good shape.  However, I ended up making some bad lifestyle choices that took me down the wrong path.  I woke up (literally) and realized I needed to make some changes!  Needless to say I wasn’t feeling too great about myself.  Low self esteem and not a lot of confidence had me very discouraged.  I knew I had to do something.

 

Well, back then I wasn’t sure what exactly to do, so I did what I thought was best.  I started immersing myself in every positive thing I could muster. I set my goals and got busy.   I started exercising and eating healthy.   I started burning calories with strength training and cardio 5-6 times a week.  I still allowed myself the foods I loved, but in moderation.  If you cheat yourself of the things you love, you're more prone to binge.  Also, you’ll be mad all the time, and what fun is that?

 

I started losing weight and felt great!  The best motivation is seeing the weight drop.  It’s amazing that each step closer you get to your goal, the confidence level is boosted up a notch, and the self esteem issues start melting away.  Exercise and eating healthy is not just about looking good and fitting into your skinny jeans.  It’s about being healthy and strong, and feeling really good about yourself.
